Travelers will no longer be required to quarantine upon arriving
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced yesterday additional countries that will be added to the UK governments green travel list, including Ibiza and the Balearic islands. Once the additional countries are added, any travelers traveling from Ibiza back into the UK won’t have to quarantine upon arrival, but still will “have to take a COVID-19 test, book and pay for the day 2 COVID-19 test on arrival back in the country, and complete a passenger locator form.” This process will start on June 30.
Ibiza will be hosting a piloted event today, Friday, June 25, to gain a better understanding of the effects of COVID-19 at large scale events. 2,000 party goers will be able to dance at Ibiza’s Hard Rock Hotel, where masks and a 12 AM curfew will be enforced. As part of Ibiza’s standard procedure on outdoor parties, face masks and an additional QR code will be necessary upon entry. If the event proves to be successful, there will likely be additional countries that will allow travelers into Ibiza.
Other countries on the UK governments green travel list include Antigua, Barbados, Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Anguilla and Montserrat, Bermuda, and others.
