Breaking News: Knife Party and Pegboard Nerds Release New Track

Today was a day to remember, my friends. Today was a day of fear, anticipation, relief, and finally madness. The good kind, of course. Today was the day Knife Party released their first track in almost two years.

Fear, I mentioned, of the unknown. Would Knife Party go haywire on us and completely switch up their sound like many classic DJs have done recently? Would they disappoint? Would Rob Swire show up? Next came anticipation, something us Knife Party fans know about all too well. Two excruciating years of silence in the world of complextro (my brother taught me this term for one of the best genres of all time) has forced the virtue of patience upon KP’s poor fans.

Relief came on July 26th when their track with Pegboard Nerds– “Harpoon” was released under Monstercat. Nothing like searching up a new song and actually seeing it there in front of you, clicking on it, and forcing yourself not to fast forward through the intro. I’ll admit, I fast forwarded, but not after soaking in the glory that is Knife Party’s intros.

Madness ensued as the drop finally came and fans all around the world were blessed with the classic sound of the masters themselves. No one quite does it like Knife Party. They have managed to create an entirely different level of noises than other producers, and their unique but recognizable sound fell upon us during a time of little hope for electro house music. The way they infuse that “party electro house” sound and that almost evil sounding siren that they love to use is effortless and appreciated. Without further ado, here is Knife Party & Pegboard Nerds- Harpoon, soon to be heard at main stages around the world.

Knife Party, we’ve stayed faithful, and have hung on by a thread. Only the echo of “Internet Friends” could be heard, and hope for genius music was nowhere to be found. This track was a reminder of your skills, but we know you’re just bubbling over with more intense sounding music that we hope is coming soon. Thank you for rising up from the dead to grace us with your talent, and please, for the love of God, keep the music coming!

If you wanna hear this track played live, check out Pegboard Nerd’s Full Hearts Tour that kicked off at Tomorrowland in Belgium and get your tickets now! You don’t wanna miss these classic DJs throwing down.
