Kx5 Venture Into Melodic Techno With Long-Awaited Second Single “Take Me High”

The anticipation for new music from Kx5, the super duo of deadmau5 and Kaskade, has been building since their first-ever performance as the official duo at EDC Las Vegas 2022. But the wait is over as their second single “Take Me High” is out now.

“Take Me High” is deep and dramatic with elements that could easily fit into a melodic techno set by ARTBAT or Tale of Us. The vocal is a belting gospel homage to the dance floor and perfectly accompanies the mysterious atmosphere.

Their second single indicates the duo can shift towards a more cinematic electronic sound and away from pop influences while creating something that feels pointed toward the future.

While there are no details, it has been confirmed that Kx5 are in the studio working on a full album. The two producers recently announced they will be partnering together for a destination festival in Cancun called Sun Soaked & Friend5 this December, indicating more IDs are to come during that time.

The two first worked together in 2008 on “I Remember,” a genre-defining anthem that appeared on Rolling Stone’s ‘200 Greatest Dance Songs of All Time’ list. Their first Kx5 release “Escape” featuring Hayla currently sits at #32 on Top 40 U.S. radio, a first for either artist.
