Lastlings Drop First Single Since 2020 With Haunting Track “Get What You Want”

Japanese-Australian brother/sister duo Lastlings, made up of Josh and Amy Dowdle, just released their first single since their 2020 debut album First Contact called “Get What You Want.”

Out on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records, “Get What You Want” is deep and haunting, with the dark pop sounds the duo are known for. Amy’s ethereal vocals add an emotional feel that is perfectly accompanied by the delicate piano and jungle-like drum breakdown.

Speaking about the new track, Amy said, “It explores mental health and the relationship that I have with myself. It’s about putting myself out there and not letting doubt get in the way of what I truly want. ‘I’ve got a lot of enemies that live inside my head’. This song isn’t about love for another person, it’s about my relationship with myself. ‘You’ refers to a darker version of myself that I am trying to fight and overcome.”

Lastlings are an Australian force that has worked with producers like SG Lewis and toured with giants like Two Door Cinema Club, Bob Moses, and Glass Animals. Their debut album, First Contact, received remixes from industry heavyweights like RÜFÜS DU SOL, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and LP Giobbi.
