Piano House Queen LP Giobbi To Release Debut Album ‘Light Places’ This Year

Piano house queen LP Giobbi just revealed that her debut album Light Places will be coming out May 12. The announcement comes following the release of the newest single “Can’t Let You Go” feat. Little Jet.

The album is a reference to Grateful Dead, named after a lyric from their song “Scarlet Begonias”, “Once in a while, you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.”

LP spoke about the tribute to her father in the title stating, “These are some of my dad’s favorite Dead lyrics and almost a philosophy for the way he lives and taught my brother and me to live. I am a seeker of light places both in the physical and the divine. I believe in letting yourself get lost and finding out it’s exactly where you were supposed to be.”

“Can’t Let You Go” was made with the group Little Jet, whom LP considers family while lauding their musical abilities. The groovy and indie-inspired track could indicate a leaning towards more live features in her sets on top of her already legendary live piano-playing skills.

LP Giobbi is a co-founder of FEMME HOUSE, a collective and nonprofit fostering equal opportunity for women and nonbinary artists in music. They provide educational resources and scholarships, cultivate community, and support career development for future music professionals.
