D&B duo Mashd N Kutcher are kicking off spring with a cheeky dance cut rework of the 80s Australian classic, “You’re The Voice.”
It’s an epic anthem that turns the classic rock tune up to 11. The remixed iconic vocals fuse rock and electronic to create a guitar-driven tension that takes away some of the cheesiness and makes the old-school song new again.
“You’re The Voice” was initially a part of Will It Mash, a weekly segment on Triple J where Mashd N Kutcher had only 24 hours to mash together a classic Australian vocal with another song or genre. The newly presented single was then praised by fans who called for it to have an official release.
Mashd N Kutcher is an Australian staple who met in 2014 as a classically trained pianist and drummer. Since then, they’ve attempted to defy what is considered “normal” in electronic dance music.
Now after a two-year hiatus, they are back producing some of their biggest tracks to date. Their “Get on the Beers” remix peaked at #1 on the iTunes Dance Charts in 2020 and certified their name in Australian households.
