Famed UK house DJ and producer Michael Bibi’s emotionally moving return to the decks at DC10 Ibiza is now available to watch in full on YouTube.
Last month, the Solid Grooves label boss surprised fans with an unannounced return to the Spanish island after over 100 days of widely publicized cancer treatment, spinning at the Solid Grooves Ibiza closing party—his first set since announcing his CNS lymphoma diagnosis in June.
The video shows the beloved artist’s arrival at the Solid Grooves party, received with heartwarming cheers from fans and loved ones alike, before beginning his hour-long set with a special thank you message.
Bibi’s words, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single person who’s been part of this journey,” can be heard washing over a packed crowd at DC10’s outdoor garden area.
His set included a number of fan-favorite tracks from artists like Butch and Jay de Lys, as well as a few of his own unreleased IDs, before closing with an epic metaphorical victory lap to the tune of Technotronic’s “Pump Up The Jam.”
Throughout the summer, Bibi’s strong-willed determination in his fight against a “very rare cancer that affects the brain and spine,” captured the hearts of the dance music masses.
Hundreds of thousands have voiced their support online and in-person at events like Solid Grooves on the Dock and Parklife festival, where DJs like Jamie Jones displayed a message that read “Get well Michael” on stage at Parklife.
Upon his release from the hospital after completing the main portion of his treatment, Bibi wrote on Instagram, “Tired but happy… My fight against cancer is not over… but for now a break & some extra time to enjoy life.”
Yesterday, the artist shared a message on X that reads, “Knowing that I still have to go back into [the] hospital to continue with aggressive cancer treatment after such a beautifully brief moment of freedom is a very hard pill to swallow.”
