NERO Set Release Date For Third Album, Announce U.S. Tour

NERO

NERO’s full-scale comeback is finally upon us. Today, the Grammy-winning electronic trio has announced that their highly anticipated third studio album, Into The Unknown, will arrive on August 16, ahead of an ensuing U.S. headline tour.

The forthcoming NERO album will mark the trailblazing live outfit’s first full-length LP since 2015’s Between II Worlds, which featured tracks like “The Thrill” and “Two Minds.”

In the years following Between II Worlds, the group—comprising producers Dan Stephens, Joseph Ray and vocalist Alana Watson—remained quiet, sticking to collaborative tracks and remixes outside of 2018’s “Lullaby,” and dropping live performance breadcrumbs in one-off DJ sets from Stephens and Ray, in addition to a grand reunion at Red Rocks in 2022.

Last October, NERO ended their five-year original music hiatus with the release of “Truth,” a hard-hitting midtempo track and the forthcoming album’s lead single, marking the first phase of their comeback. Two more singles have followed—a triumphant return to drum & bass on “Blame You” and the electro-heavy “Draw Energy”—as NERO’s revival reaches critical mass.

Into The Unkown will serve as the final chapter in the group’s album trilogy, which began with 2011’s Welcome Reality, the chart-topping LP home of mega-hits like “Promises” and “Doomsday.”

Following the new album’s release this summer, NERO’s 16-date “Into The Unknown Tour” will bring the band’s famous avant-garde musicality to iconic venues across the U.S.

After a performance at Lost Lands, the tour will kick off in Minneapolis on September 27, making stops at Chicago’s Concord Music Hall, Washington D.C.’s Echostage, New York City’s Webster Hall, and San Francisco’s 1015 Folsom, among others, before closing at The Novo in Los Angeles on November 23. Find a complete list of tour dates below.

Though Watson, who recently welcomed her third child with Stephens, will take a step back from this tour, the group’s prowess as a trio will still be felt via a brand-new hybrid live set from Stephens and Ray. UK talents Pocket and Camden Cox will provide support on select dates.

Pre-sale registration for NERO’s 2024 Into The Unknown Tour is now available here. Pre-sale access will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, June 4 at 10AM local time. General on-sale will follow on Friday, June 8 at 10AM local time.
