A new 6,000-capacity club from the team behind Pikes Ibiza and Ibiza Rocks is set to open on the White Isle this summer.
Occupying San Antonio’s Benimussa Park, a former zoo and the previous home of The Zoo Project party series, 528 Ibiza will begin its electronic music programming this July with a run of parties from Spanish outfit Brunch Electronik and the UK’s BBC Radio 1 Dance.
Set among “scenic hills, untouched farmlands, fragrant lemon orchards” and offering elevated sunset views, according to its website, the new venue will comprise three stages: the 4,000-capacity Garden stage, the 2,500-capacity Park stage, and the indoor Teatro, a converted theatre that holds about 1,000 standing patrons.
528 Ibiza will also host events on its private 1,000-capacity rooftop Terrace—though Mixmag reports that the space will also be designated for banquets, catering, and other events.
“We are uniquely placed to connect people to the true energy of Ibiza through music, culture, community and collaboration,” Andy McKay, CEO of the club’s Ibiza Rocks Group (IRG) ownership team, said in a statement posted to Instagram last week.
528 Ibiza will showcase its multi-use potential with a special one-night-only orchestra performance this Saturday, June 1. The Eivissa Daurada concert will feature music from composers such as Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer and Max Richter.
Later in the summer, the first of three Friday evening Brunch Electronik parties will feature performances from Adriatique, Monolink, and more on July 12. UK hard house artist Hannah Laing will bring her DOOF party to the venue on July 16.
In August, BBC Radio 1 Dance will host the likes of Armand Van Helden, Ben Hemsley, CamelPhat, Dom Dolla, Gorgon City, and LF System.
