Peggy Gou is finally back with her first original song in two years, an easy-going track called, “(It Goes Like) Nanana.”
The new single is a retro-house bop with nostalgic piano and guitar touches reminiscent of 90s European electronica, and it will also be featured on her upcoming debut album.
Speaking on her new release, Gou said, “There’s a feeling we all know but is hard to describe, that feeling of love, warmth, and excitement when you’re surrounded by friends and loved ones and the energy speaks for itself. It’s difficult to put into words but to me it goes ‘nanana!’ I want this song to evoke that nanana feeling!”
Gou’s most recent original release was in 2021 with the similarly beachy track “I Go,” which has been remixed by legends DJ Koze, Soulwax, and Maurice Fulton.
And more new music is still to come as the multi-genre creative and fashion designer will soon drop her debut album on XL Recordings, although no release date has been revealed as of this time.
Peggy Gou’s sound can only be described as “dance music” as she has no genre limits and simply plays whatever makes the crowd move.
