The Australian drum & bass trio legends joined forces back in 2002 in their hometown of Perth to combine unique musical styles and talents to form the electronic music group Pendulum. Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen (both of the renowned duo Knife Party) teamed up with local legend DJ Paul “El Hornet” Harding in a trio the took Western Australia by storm. Soon finding international fame, the trio took the number one UK albums spot with their third studio album ‘Immersion.’ Now for the first time in ten years, Pendulum is back with a brand new music debuted from a historic Victorian military fort.
Last week on October 2nd, 2020 the trio made their comeback in the most iconic way: atop a fort built in the middle of the ocean. Spitbank Fort was built in 1859 off a minuscule piece of land protruding from the ocean off the coast of England. In an era where DJs are continuously pushing the envelope with unique live stream performances, this performance from a fort in the ocean is a first. During the live stream, Pendulum showcased new music along with classic hits. While an album release date has not yet been confirmed, is has been hinted that a new album is in the works.
