Raul Pacheco is an incredibly talented and successful DJ who began his career by establishing himself within Spain’s underground music scene and securing a residency at the Mattrix Club at the age of 19. Since then, Raul Pacheco has only looked up – securing residencies at some of Spain’s most predominant clubs including Bassago and Number One. Since his success at a young age, Pacheco has continued to improve both his music and his image within Spain’s electronic music industry.
Pacheco formed his own label and has joined the famous label ‘7noises’ while performing at some of the world’s most renowned festivals, concert halls, and clubs. Pacheco was awarded artist of the year in 2012 at the Extremadura Electronic Awards and has helped manage Hebben Live and Rural Parade International festivals, which are some of Spain’s largest techno festivals. When Pacheco is not involving himself in music, he is spending time with his family or in the studio – which he was able to do a lot of throughout quarantine.
We were able to sit down with Raul before “De España, Con Amor” (With Love, From Spain) to discuss quarantine, life in the studio as well any upcoming projects he is currently working on. “De España, Con Amor” was filmed at the Circuito DR7 in Tarancón, Spain, and will premiere Friday, February 19 from 8 PM PST -12 AM PST on Insomniac TV’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
EDM Maniac: Hola Raul, how has quarantine been for you? How have you been spending your time during these days?
Raul Pacheco: Hi guys, it’s a blessed to live this day. It’s through this that I feel very well, the quarantine has been a necessary state for me with the tranquility, being at home, sleeping well, spending time with my family…I need it. This is the first part for me with quarantine, last month I am spending more time in the studio and every day. I think the best way to feel good now is a mix of sports and studio.
EDM Maniac: Thats great to hear. Are you currently working on any upcoming projects?
Raul Pacheco: I am spending a lot of time in the studio, and have several projects completed. I am now working on the most important project from me, it’s more personal. It’s my first album. But, I don’t know if it’s the best time to release it. I am not in a hurry to release music now because this time when the artists don’t play music on the floor, the people aren’t dancing and the mood for a festival. I don’t know, I want to wait for this moment to release everything. But yes, I am working hard in the studio.
EDM Maniac: What do you miss most about life outside of quarantine? Do you miss performing live for your fans?
Raul Pacheco: Of course! Many things. I miss work because when you work, you will laugh, for example, and you connect with different people directors, managers, friends. I miss traveling and meeting new people. I mean, it’s not sleeping in on weekends or testing new food, for sure feeling life. Many things have been taking us away from us, many moments without. But you have to be positive, and everything will be better soon.
EDM Maniac: Are you excited about the EDM Maniac and Insomniac TV livestream? Is there anything else you would like to say to your fans?
Raul Pacheco: I would like to say thanks, thank you very much for the invitation! For the experience. I send a kiss to everyone around the world. Ciao!
You will not want to miss out on Raul Pacheco’s performance at the Circuito DR7 in Tarancón, Spain – so make sure you are tuning in to InsomniacTV’s Twitch and YouTube channels this Friday to see his epic live stream performance.
