Rusko is a rare breed of bass producer. Unlike most who are attached to one particular style and sound, the music of Rusko is formless. Some of his biggest hits are dubstep, but he also has a consistent output of experimental and dnb. Rusko’s latest release, “Mac 19,” fits the latter.
Harboring the sounds of dancehall and old-school Jamaican rhythms, “Mac 19” taps into the roots of drum and bass before morphing into a ripping drop. Those wobbles are simply unmistakable. If you hear them, you know Rusko was involved in the production. It’s so wonderful to see him back doing his thing in full force.
