SiriusXM has today launched Avicii Radio, a new channel dedicated to the life and legacy of the iconic Swedish producer.
A collaboration with mental health charities Vibrant Emotional Health and the Tim Bergling Foundation, the new app-exclusive SiriusXM channel will commemorate the impactful dance music career of Avicii—AKA Tim Bergling—now six years on from his tragic death by suicide in 2018, at the age of just 28.
The channel’s launch coincides with the 10th anniversary of Avicii’s The Days / The Nights EP, as well as the arrival of Mental Health Awareness Month in May. Avicii Radio will continue discourse around mental health with exclusive commentary from artists sharing their own mental health journeys and advice, according to its website.
Fans can expect to hear “Music for a better day” on the channel, including Avicii’s famous hits and remixes from “Levels” to “Wake Me Up,” plus music by his friends, influences and collaborators. The program will also highlight events and concerts in Avicii’s home city of Stockholm benefitting the Tim Bergling Foundation.
Avicii Radio has been built with help from Avicii’s legendary dance music contemporaries such as Nicky Romero, Armin van Buuren, Laidback Luke, and his longtime collaborator, singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc, who has lent his voice to the channel, as well as salient messaging from Vibrant Emotional Health.
“I can’t think of a better way to honor the life and legacy of Avicii,” Blacc said in a press release. “This SiriusXM radio channel dedicated to the music he made, played, and inspired is a lasting testament to his massive influence.”
Starting today, Avicii Radio is available for 24/7 listening on the SiriusXM app exclusively for fans in the U.S. and Canada. Tune in here.
