Friends of SOPHIE have launched a charity auction of art pieces pertaining to the artist
Last year, SOPHIE passed away due to a tragic accident in Athens. Since her death, SOPHIE’s friends have launched a brand-new charity art auction titled, ‘God Is Trans.‘ The art auction features a list of art pieces that are related to SOPHIE, including art prints, clothes, and more. The idea of the art auction is to “honor SOPHIE’s radical generosity, artistic vision, and commitment to supporter the trans community.”
SOPHIE’s art auction will end next week with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Trans Justice Funding Project, which is a community-led funding initiative founded to support grassroots, trans justice groups run by and for trans people in the United States. The project centers the leadership of trans people by “organizing around their experiences with racism, economic injustice, transmisogyny, ableism, immigration, incarceration, and other intersecting oppressions.”
