Speaker Honey Releases New EP, “Animate Life”

A staple artist for mau5trap since her label debut with ‘Shoyu’ on We Are Friends Vol. 9 back in 2019, Speaker Honey continues to push the boundaries of her music. Her latest EP, Animate Life, continues her musical evolution into Techno with two tracks, titled ‘Animate’ and ‘Life.’

‘Animate’ opens up with simplistic beats complemented with dark, Techno basslines and echoing vocals that lead into forceful drum kicks. ‘Life’ picks up where ‘Animate’ leaves off, with a driving drum beat that is soon blended with repeating vocals and builds to a dark, meticulously crafted melody that with the energy to keep you going into the early hours of a warehouse dancefloor.

“It is exciting to move towards this darker, more techno direction through my productions… Animate Life serves as a launching point for much more peak-time and driving music from me on the label.”

Born and raised in Los Angeles, my love of Dance Music knows no bounds. From the dark sketchy warehouses to riding the rail at the main stage, I refuse to limit myself to one genre of music. Techno to Hardstyle, House to Trance, I have a deep passion and love for them all. When I'm not at an event, catch me cheering for the Dodgers or taking care of my 2 dogs. If you see me at an event, make sure you say hi!
