A new high-speed train from Florida company Brightline claims it will open in November 2023, in time to service EDC Orlando.
This new train is part of an expansion anticipating adding ten trains to Brightline’s system in Florida. Five new trains have already been added to Florida’s system in the last 18 months and two new stations were also added in January: Boca Raton and Aventura.
There are currently stops in Miami, another dance music hub and the location of Ultra Music Festival and Miami Music Week.
The expansion may make travel across the state of Florida easier and could create a new and cheap way to travel to festivals and shows as train tickets can be available for as little as $18 one way.
90% of the work for the Orlando extension is complete and the company is confident it will be ready for use by EDC Orlando in November.
EDC Orlando is no stranger to travel issues as in 2022, Tropical Storm Nicole closed several airports the Wednesday before the festival. This included Orlando International and Melbourne Orlando International, two travel hubs for the event.
But Insomniac did manage to bring back production post-storm, earning a B+ for production in EDM Maniac’s famous Festival Report Card for its larger-than-life stage design, fireworks and drone show, and performers.
