Turkey Nightclubs Band Together To Help Aid In Earthquake Relief

A series of disastrous earthquakes hit the country of Turkey earlier this week causing many fatalities as well as huge amounts of damage to cities like Kahramanmaras. But nightclubs and event venues in the region have banded together to offer aid and help those in need.

The two earthquakes, the first registered as 7.8, occurred near the border between Turkey and Syria, majorly affecting citizens in both countries. The region had not had a major earthquake for over 200 years, meaning the people and infrastructure were not prepared for the disaster.

Currently, at least 11,000 people are dead and 80,000 are injured.

In response to this unprecedented disaster, nightclubs like Klein PhönixKlein HarbiyeRX Istanbul, MiniMuzikhol, Kite, and DatDat have launched campaigns to gather essential supplies for people impacted by the earthquakes.

Furthermore, “The parent company of Istanbul’s venue complex, Zorlu Performing Arts Centre, which has been hosting Sónar Istanbul since its first edition, announced that they sent their own search-and-rescue teams to the areas most needed.”
