Ultra Records‘ Ultra Dance compilations are coming back via the U R DJ Mix Series, starting with a mix from Ultra Records president David Waxman.
The compilation series originally launched in 2002, selling millions of physical albums across the first 20 compilations. The first Ultra Dance 1 sold 150,000 copies.
Now the compilations are being reimagined for the streaming era with the first new mix, U R House from Waxman.
Speaking on his personally curated mix, Waxman stated, “From remakes of classic hip hop and R&B tracks to brand new club bangers, Ultra has released some incredible house music over the years and because I grew up listening to house music in its golden era, I want to make sure we will continue to do so for years to come.”
U R House contains selections from featured artists like Sofi Tukker, Idris Elba, Anabel Englund, DVBBS, Solardo, and more.
Waxman has been in the industry for over 25 years, beginning as an NYC club promoter before turning to DJing and journalism at Mixmag, eventually becoming an editor for the magazine as well as A&R for their parent company, DMC.
Since becoming President of Ultra Records in 2022, Waxman re-signed a number of top-billing artists including MK, Cash Cash, Austin Millz, and J. Worra.
