The Winter Music Conference Is Taking A Break In 2023

The world-renowned Winter Music Conference will not make its return to Miami Music Week in 2023, but it will be back in 2024 with a restored vision.

In 1985 Louis Possenti and Bill Kelly established the Winter Music Conference (WMC), an annual music conference that comes to Miami every March. That is until the pandemic canceled Ultra Music Festival in 2020 and forced the event to a halt.

The WMC , which is known to gather great minds in dance music together including artists, DJs, promoters, the media, and fans from all over the world, has not reappeared from the time of the COVID lockdowns.

Be that as it may, they have pledged to return in March 2024 along with a refreshed vision for the programming.

Though the WMC is skipping over 2023, Ultra Music Festival and Miami Music Week will both proceed to provide the music, artists, and experiences that dance music lovers look forward to each March.

“If you want to know about our industry from the people that make it happen then go to WMC. It’s an accelerated masterclass in all things dance music,” says Intec Records label boss Carl Cox

A battle with epilepsy could not stop me from finding the rave community or pursuing my passion to write. I was a journalism major at my college writing about sports when my condition took me out of my classes and stuck me in my home to focus on bills and get healthy. Once I got my seizures under control through medication I decided to face my fear of crowds and lasers in order to finally experience house music in festival fashion at Day Trip 2021. I quickly learned that I could continue to rave and manage my condition simultaneously. Then a raver was born! I love house and techno the most, which ironically are the genres that even brought my parents together. The dance music culture and community has connected me with the opportunity to write about my passion, the best of friends, a lover, and good and bad experiences that continue to grow me as a person. I'm based in Southern California let's catch a set!
