Zeds Dead and Flux Pavilion have combined their legendary signature sounds to release “Waves” on Deadbeats. With vocals from DeathbyRomy, “Waves” is an emotional combination of which only dreams are made.
While Zeds Dead and Flux Pavilion have both cemented their legacy into the dubstep scene, “Waves” is their first collaboration ever. First teased at Zeds Dead’s headlining performance at Electric Forest, fans have been not-so-patiently waiting for the collaboration to finally drop.
“Waves” proves to be a festival anthem for the ages. Zeds Dead brings in their signature darker dubstep, while Flux Pavilion brings the higher energy. DeathbyRomy rounds out the track with her powerful alternative vocals, repeating the song’s main tagline, “Missing you comes in waves.”
Both Zeds Dead and Flux Pavilion have helped define the genre of dubstep, and it is exciting to see them finally collaborate.
Zeds Dead’s “Eyes on Fire” remix and Flux Pavilion’s remix of “Cracks” were both published on UKF’s YouTube page 13–14 years ago and have since garnered millions of views. Seeming to “blow up” together simultaneously, Zeds Dead and Flux Pavilion are long overdue for this collaboration.
Each producer has helped shape a generation and popularize a genre we all know and love today: dubstep.
