Bob Moses Collabs With Zhu On ‘Desire’ For New Album

As if we weren’t blessed enough to hear about Zhu’s collaboration with Tchami, Zhu is working on another track with Canadian duo Bob Moses. The new project is called Desire, a dark song about lust and heartbreak.

Along with the song comes a beautiful animated video directed by Owen Brown and animation by Airplan. The interactive video lets you play with the colors of the video (red, blue, or both) by clicking buttons on the screen. Changing the colors also changes the symbols from a heart to a fire, a blooming rose into a withering one, a dove to an owl. The imagery powerfully portrays the duality of love. As two characters fall from the sky into a city skyline, listeners become intertwined in their cycle of pleasure and pain. Through meaningful lyrics like “I don’t want your desire, I just wanna be free,” we can feel the complicated, contradictory emotions of relationships.

“Desire” is actually one of six continually mixed songs on Bob Moses’ upcoming album of the same name. The record is reminiscent of a live club set that is meant to flow seamlessly yet purposefully. The record will be released on August 28; but until then, you can catch a Zhu (Blacklizt) x Bob Moses b2b this Friday, July 17 at 4pm PT on Insomniac’s “Secret Project” live stream.
