BBC Radio 1 Launches 24-Hour Station

We are here for it, and we can’t believe this hasn’t happened sooner. Next month, BBC Radio 1 will be launching their very own 24-hour dance station. Throughout the day, they will bring us an ensemble of “current, future and classic hits.” You can start tuning in on Friday, October 9 at 8am PT. 

To add to the hype, guest DJs will take over the station at specified times each week as follows:

Monday-Thursday

8-10 a.m: Pete Tong 

10 a.m.-12 p.m.: Essentials Mixes 

12-2 p.m.: Renee La Vice’s drum and bass show

2-4 p.m.: Resident DJs (including Disclosure and Amelie Lens)

Friday

10 a.m.-12 p.m.: Annie Mac’s Dance Party

12-2 p.m.: Danny Howard

2-4 p.m.: Pete Tong

4-6p .m.: Essential Mixes

Saturday

8-11 a.m.: Dance Anthems with MistaJam 

11a.m.-1 p.m.: Danny Howard’s Club Mix 

1-2 p.m.: BBC Introducing Dance fronted by Jaguar 

2-4 p.m: Radio 1’s Essential Mix 

4-6 p.m.: Diplo & Friends 

Sunday (Laid back Wind Down Series)

4-6 a.m.: Artist-curated mixes

10 a.m.-12 p.m.: Artist-curated mixes

8-10 p.m.: Artist-curated mixes
