Boris Brejcha, the joker-masked DJ extraordinaire and inventor of high-tech minimal, has just dropped his tenth studio album, Never Stop Dancing. Featuring 12 DJ-ready cuts, this album lives up to its namesake and more.
As house and techno have gained more momentum in prominent markets like the US, Brechja has deservedly garnered serious attention around his unique style of music. High-tech minimal features the subtlety of old-school four-on-the-floor, with a type of high energy that’s universally appealing.
Tracks like “Go For A Ride,” which features vocals from Brejcha’s real-life partner Ginger, tap into the inherent unity of club styles. With a few tweaks, the drop could be reworked into big-room house, but that’s the beauty of dance music. The similarities far outnumber the differences.
Never Stop Dancing is Brejcha at the top of his form. He released the album on his 40th birthday, and the quality and precision throughout the album connote he’ll be around for decades to come.
