Bantwanas Embraces African Sounds In New EP ‘Ixesha’

Bantwanas (children of Africa), is a rising collective of songwriters, producers, and musicians that embrace African sounds and culture through dance music.

This unique group of creatives unites to share their heritage with the world in the most universal way possible: music. In their latest EP, Ixesha, released via Lee Burridge‘s record label, All Day I Dream, Bantwanas merges authentic African instrumentation with four-on-the-floor beats. As a result, they produce timeless melodies with big drums, providing listeners with an authentic sense of culture and inspiration.

This is the group’s second release on All Day I Dream, and they have also shared two EPs on Above & Beyond‘s refined record label, Anjunadeep.

Ixesha consists of two tracks featuring vocals in the Zulu language and one remix of each original, totaling four tracks. The EP starts off with a dreamy title track, “Ixesha,” which translates to “time.” The second original composition is entitled “Izolo,” meaing “yesterday,” closes out the release with ethereal synths and serene washes that soar like a soft wind across the African desert.

Punctuating the already impressive offerings are remixes of both tracks from Burridge and label resident Lost Desert.
