Tennessee Secretary Of State Charged With DUI Leaving Bonnaroo

Tre Hargett, Tennessee Secretary of State, was charged with a DUI leaving this year’s edition of Bonnaroo Arts and Music Festival.

Hargett was booked into the Tennessee County’s jail Friday, June 17 for allegedly driving under the influence post-festival. This just goes to show that no one is safe from the consequences of drinking and driving. Driving under any substance is unsafe and will result in either people getting hurt, a DUI arrest, or both.

Music festivals commonly give tickets and arrest attendees for both misdemeanors and felonies. This past year, EDC handed out 39 arrests and issued 13 citations throughout the course of the weekend. Numbers are down from the 2021 edition, a good sign considering around 498,000 attended the festival in total.

Bonnaroo was held this past June 16-19, for the first time since 2019. The multi-genre lineup featured top names like Illenium, Flume, and J. Cole.
