Calvin Harris Releases Two New Tracks Inspired By 90’s Rave Scene

The records are inspired by early rave, breaks, techno and house, the music I was obsessed with growing up.

Ahead of his highly-anticipated US performance at Coachella in a few months, Calvin Harris has gifted us the first two tracks under his new project “Love Regenerator.”

‘CP-1’ and ‘Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)’ are the new singles available now on streaming platforms. At first listen, both tracks immediately deliver some pure 90s house vibes, something Calvin Harris really wanted to bring to the masses. In a press release, Calvin Harris had this to say:

“‘Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)’ and ‘CP-1’ are the first tracks from my new project Love Regenerator. I wanted to rediscover the way I originally began producing music 22 years ago before I ever thought about how it might be perceived by outside forces. Just pure fun and experimentation with what sounded good to me. The records are inspired by early rave, breaks, techno and house, the music I was obsessed with growing up. In fact, I’ve done everything I can to make them sound like they’ve come from a 1991 time capsule. Every synth and sound used is from that time period.”

Both tracks certainly take you back to 1991 with those signature synths and Prodigy-esque vibes. You can stream both tracks below and watch the official video for ”Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait).’

What do you think of the new tracks? Let us know in the comments!
