As there are plenty of live streams to catch up on during the COVID-19 crisis, we think we have one that will top them all. Calvin Harris has been beloved by music fans ever since his peak back in 2014. We’ve always had his back and are always looking forward to new music and new concerts.
Well, Defected Records has caught on to this unconditional love that we all share for Harris and has decided to make him the main headliner for this weekend’s Defected Virtual Festival. Not only will we get the pleasure of seeing Harris, but we’ll get to experience his new house music alias, Love Regenerator. Harris describes Love Regenerator to be inspired by, “early rave, breaks, techno, and house”. As Harris announced this alias earlier in the year, this will be one of his first sets under the alter-ego.
The Defected Virtual events have been proving to be a hit as they’ve been receiving over 5m views and positive feedback from outlets like BBC Breakfast, Radio 1, Channel 4 News, Forbes, Pitchfork, and more. With this incredible feedback, they are devoted to offering viewers the best experience possible. The goal is to bring viewers together through their slogan “Our House. Your House. United. Together”. The group is also encouraging viewers to stay home as well as donate to the Solidarity Response Fund. The option to donate will be available from a button next to the stream.
“Defected helped define the sound of house music I was listening to as a teenager; I associate the old grey and blue 12” covers with so much happiness and inspiration… Since day one every release has been of quality, and when you think about it – with the amount the industry has changed since 1999 – to be smashing it out the park more than ever is a beyond incredible feat!”
