Desperados Is Launching The World’s First Dance-Powered App

Desperados is launching the world’s first dance-powered app to help support Europe’s nightlife industry.

Europe has always been a prominent destination for tourists of all cultures. Whether it’s visiting exquisite restaurants or exotic nightclubs, Europe has always been a destination for quality nightlife. When nightclubs were unable to open their doors almost a year ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many faced difficult financial situations. In response, Desperados is calling upon all partygoers and dancers in an effort to support those nightclubs that were unable to open because of the pandemic. Desperados is launching a new app called Rave to Save where people will be invited to “eight virtual parties that go beyond the obvious, where their dance moves at home will be turned into cash for clubs across Europe.”

Desperados is pledging to donate €1 for every 1,000 steps that are taken on the app. Meaning, active users who chose to participate have the ability to raise money for nightclubs simply by dancing at home. Active users can increase the amount they are able to contribute by making a direct donation to clubs in Germany, the UK, and Spain. That donation will be matched by Desperados. Direct donations have a limit of  €30,000 per event. Head of Marketing at Desperados, Rutger van der Stegen, had the following to say about the app,

“With nightclubs and music venues forced to keep their doors shut for months, Europe’s nightlife sector has taken a big hit from the pandemic. At Desperados, we believe we have a responsibility to support an industry that is so deeply entrenched in our DNA. That’s why we’re thrilled to unite partygoers from around the world through our Rave to Save app. By dancing together, we can all support the venues we love so they’re ready to re-open their doors and welcome us all back when it’s safe to do so.”

Desperados has partnered with Beatport which will enable active users to start raving as early as Saturday, March 27. Users will be able to virtually rave from Berlin’s Prince Charles club which will be streamed on Beatport’s Facebook and YouTube channels from 19:00 CET.
