Two kings of the neck breakers, Excision and Sullivan King, have teamed up for a growling and intense bass and metal hybrid track called “Fall Apart” on Monstercat.
The longtime friends join forces for their fourth collaboration and a single off Sullivan King’s forthcoming album Thrones of Blood.
The song first debuted at Excision and Sullivan King’s legendary back-to-back set at Lost Lands in 2022 and fans have been begging for the release ever since.
“Fall Apart” opens with eerie guitar courtesy of Sullivan King’s instrumental talent, then moves into nostalgic punk vocals by King himself. Once the track drops into an intensely gritty and grimy breakdown, the headbangers are sure to lose their mind over the nasty growls.
Sullivan King said about the collaboration, “’Fall Apart’ really quickly became one of my favorite tracks for the record, mainly because it has this really raw nu metal/2000’s rock influence to it, which is something I definitely grew up on and loved.”
He continued, “It’s a really simple song that doesn’t have a ton of complicated layers, which is something I’ve really appreciated learning from Jeff [Excision]. I habitually tend to overthink/overdo things on a song and end up having to pull back from the chaos I throw into a project or idea, but Jeff is fantastic when it comes to making sure things are directionally clear and sonically understandable.”
Sullivan King’s Thrones of Blood tour kicks off on March 23 and is his biggest headline tour to date. Artist support includes Benda, Vastive, and Level Up, as well as Kai Wachi as a special guest.
