For the second year in a row, a headliner has pulled out of Coachella last minute, this time Frank Ocean for weekend two.
After the tumult surrounding Frank Ocean’s closing set on the last day of Coachella last weekend, there was speculation as to how the reclusive R&B artist would return the second weekend.
It was reported that a leg injury caused Ocean’s team to have to change the setup for the show only around 72 hours before. There was supposed to be a full ice skating rink on the stage, but Ocean decided he did not want the piece anymore, reportedly due to his leg injury.
And a statement from Coachella confirmed that the injury still affects the world-renowned singer and he will have to drop out, “due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”
Variety reports Ocean will be replaced by Blink 182.
This is the second time in a row Coachella has had to replace a headliner last minute after Kanye West pulled out of his slot last year. Kanye West was replaced by a shared set from Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd in 2022.
