The islands nightlife association has approved the proposal to host a 2,000 capacity pilot event
Starting this month on either Friday, June 25, or Friday, July 2, Ibiza will welcome 2,000 club-goers (50% of the club’s total occupancy) to an Ibiza pilot party where masks and a 12 AM curfew will be enforced. As part of Ibiza’s standard procedure on outdoor parties, face masks and an additional QR code will be necessary upon entry.
Prior to entering the event, attendees must have a digital certification to prove they have been given a dose of a COVID-19 vaccination or have a negative antigen test result. Drinks will be given out to specific seating areas and if the pilot event is successful, Ibiza’s clubs may be able to return to their pre-pandemic state just weeks after the event.
There have been no reported deaths from COVID-19 in Ibiza for the past six weeks. Currently, shops are open, and restaurants are allowed to have outdoor seating with a maximum limit of 150 persons. Recent pilot events in Europe have reassured many festival-goers that live events will return to their normal state sometime soon.
As Europe’s pilot events continue to show positive outcomes, the future of live events in Ibiza is looking very promising for this summer.
