Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella will soon have his own movie. Insomniac: The Life And Times of Pasquale Rotella, a memoir that the Electronic Dance Music mogul is writing with A Million Little Pieces author James Frey and has been acquired by Fox 2000 and Temple Hill. The memoir is set to come out next summer and will tell the “Rags to riches” story of Pasquale’s rise to fame. Rotella is famous producing the biggest festival in North America, the “Electric Daisy Carnival” which will happen in Las Vegas this summer from June 20-22.
Temple Hill‘s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen will produce the movie with Rachel Miller of Haven Entertainment (Haven just worked on the “Under the Electric Sky” film which premiered tonight in Los Angeles), and Fox 2000′s Elizabeth Gabler and Erin Siminoff will oversee it with Temple Hill’s Isaac Klausner.
From Deadline Hollywood: “The studio views it as a way into the immensely popular EDM world, with an edgy 8 Mile/Social Network-type look look at a provocative character scratching for his share of the American dream. Molly Glick at Foundry and Lev Ginsburg at Ginsburg Daniels brokered the deal. Frey’s repped by WME.”
We look forward to Pasquale’s memoir and the story when it gets produced!
