Troyboi Talks About His New Album & His Upcoming Tour

Troyboi is a well-known British DJ whose catchy beats and dirty drops have risen him to the top of the charts. The 29 year-old has grown to be an international superstar since he began in the early 2010’s. The Southeast London native came into the scene with his own very unique sound that quickly won over the hearts of music lovers from all over the globe. When you listen to his composition it becomes very clear that he pulls from many different influences to create his own sound that he simply calls “My Style.”

Troyboi was signed onto Diplo’s record label Mad Decent, and has collaborated with several big name artists including Nina Sky and Diplo himself in the single “Afterhours.” Troyboi also collaborated with Flosstradamus on the hit single “Soundclash” that topped the charts back in beginning of 2015. He has also worked other artists such as Grandtheft, NEFERA, and Sam Sure. Pulling inspiration from many different artists, his unique sounds pull you in and keep you dancing until he steps off the stage. He has played at many different festivals including Nocturnal Wonderland, Northern Lights Festival, Middlelands, and now Electric Forest.

I had the pleasure of getting to speak with him right before his set the first weekend of Electric Forest 2017. We talked about some of his inspirations and his childhood favorites including Michael Jackson. We also discussed his upcoming album that he’s putting the final touches on and is set to release sometime in July 2017. While he wouldn’t give me too many details, he DID tell me that we can expect it to be completely different than anything he has released previously. I was fortunate enough to catch his set that evening where he released some of his new tracks, and he wasn’t lying. While it is different than his previous work, it is still has his unique sound that we have all grown to love.

With the release of his new album comes a new tour that starts off in Albuquerque, NM on September, 05 2017. Keep up with his upcoming tour and get your tickets on his official website HERE.
