Disco Donnie Presents has just announced that their Ubbi Dubbi Festival will move forward as planned next month in Ennis, Texas. The two-day music and camping festival goes down April 24 & 25 and will feature artists like Kaskade, Green Velvet, Illenium, and more.
Today’s festival news comes on the heels of Texas Governor Greg Abbott announcing the state’s full reopening, with events and businesses allowed to operate at full capacity. The Governor also announced the lifting of the statewide mask mandate, which was marred with comments regarding safety. Ultimately, Abbott says it will be up to businesses to implement best practices as they see fit.
Under this guidance, Disco Donnie Presents is saying that their event will go on as planned with a partnership with Clear Health Pass. Clear is the leader when it comes to expedited entry through security at airports, but recently the company announced its implementation of secure health data into their app.
According to the popular travel website The Points Guy, “Health Pass is already being used to verify negative tests required…choosing to use the platform will be able to select an approved test, including labs and at-home options. From there, they’ll log in to their testing account, and results will be linked to the app.” It’s unclear if Ubbi Dubbi will require proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test.
Disco Donnie’s Twitter post says Ubbi Dubbi will require attendees to wear masks, though it will be interesting to see exactly how that will be enforced. Along with Clear Health Pass and the mask requirement, only time will tell to how promoter Disco Donnie will navigate the new festival world, and if anyone else will follow.
