Ever since Coachella started streaming live sets from the weekend, the term “Couchella” has become a staple of the discourse surrounding the festival. Eager music fans who can’t make it out to the desert have the opportunity to join the fun from their couches thanks to YouTube. Couchella will once again be a thing this year, and there will be new and exciting ways for the couch watchers to experience the first Coachella in three years.
Other than the performances that will stream throughout both weekends, viewers can tune in to exclusive interviews with artists and other creators. Various YouTube influencers like Benoftheweek, Kaiti Yoo, and Kirsten Titus will provide their perspective of the festival on YouTube Shorts, YouTube’s take on the shot-form content format similar to TikTok and Instagram reels. Some of these influencers will “live” at the YouTube Shorts Compound on-site. Others will be roaming around as usual, documenting their experience.
Couch viewers can also take a glimpse into YouTube Premium pre-parties with artists like Cordae, Banda MS, and Omar Apollo and purchase merchandise through YouTube shopping.
