EDC Las Vegas 2021 will be held from May 21-23 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
This is the news we have all been waiting for. In a series of Instagram posts last night, Founder & CEO of Insomniac, Pasquale Rotella, teased the world with what seemed to be an Electric Daisy Carnival countdown. The three posts consisted of individual video snippets of EDC Las Vegas with the captions, ‘3,2,1.’ It was a little less than an hour later when Pasquale posted the fourth and final countdown post, which was the confirmation that EDC Las Vegas would be celebrating 25 years under the electric sky this upcoming May 21-23.
Despite the Nevada State Department of Business & Industry denying EDC’s recently submitted safety plan, the festival will continue as planned. In the announcement post, Pasquale goes on to comment that more details surrounding specific safety protocols and the lineup will be “shared soon.” The post does not specifically state the maximum capacity of attendees for the event but that information will also be disclosed in the coming weeks. Pasquale released the following statement on his Instagram account,
“We are moving forward as planned & will be working closely with local & state officials to make the show as safe as possible. You can expect the full EDC experience with no details spared, from the festival grounds to the music, stages, art, performers, artists & fireworks! I look forward to seeing all your beautiful faces & feeling your incredible energy, and I couldn’t be more excited.”
As of right now, local restrictions will only permit 80,000 attendees per day compared to its pre-pandemic numbers of 150,000. However, restrictions could change on May 1 when local officials are set to take control of the state government. This would potentially allow for a higher capacity limit depending on if local restrictions are changed.
