EDC Las Vegas will now be held from October 22-24
CEO and founder, Pasquale Rotella, has announced that EDC Las Vegas will now be held in October instead of May as initially planned. Pasquale revealed the announcement on his social media accounts, stating that, “EDC Las Vegas needs to move to October.” The decision to move the festival a month back is a disappointment to many, but the right decision nonetheless.
Just a few weeks ago, EDC Las Vegas confirmed its dates for May 21-23 after Pasquale publicly commented that EDC will be, “Moving forward as planned & will be working closely with local & state official to make the show as safe as possible.” At the time, the festival did not specify capacity limits, just that EDC would be celebrating 25 years under the electric sky under its initially scheduled dates.
Pasquale’s social media announcement states that the reason for the postponement was due to a new reopening plan passed by Clark County (home of EDC & Las Vegas Motor Speedway) that would require 60% of the county’s residents to be vaccinated before restrictions for large scale gathering can be lifted. Although the festival COULD hypothetically occur, it is not worth the risk, and will now be moved to October of this year.
